So you want to buy a pet, but still unsure what to get -here some help on that.
- Cats. Quiet animals except when they demand feeding, which is every other hour and well groomed. Their nocturnal animals so they only really come to life at night, going out to bring you back live mice as a present bless ‘em. Cats will cost a little less than a dog because cats dont require the training that a dog has, but thats only a little less.
- Dogs. Mans best friend? A dog will need to be taken for walks almost every other day, if not every day, so both you and your dog can get exercise together. They will need to be trained and can be very loyal to their owner.
- Rodents. Gerbils, Hamsters, Rats, Mice. The little critters can go on for about a year and a half, though dont be surprised if they go on for a little longer. the right sized cage is important -rats are the bigger rodent and mice may escape through bigger holes in the bars. They’ll need a wheel for exercise, but replace it when it starts squeaking so you get some sleep at night.
- Rabbits and Guinea pigs. Be prepared to chase them around the garden to get them back in their hutch, they can move quicker than you think. You’ll need a hutch for them to stay in and a run or garden for them to have a runaround in. Give them fresh lettuce/ carrots to go with their feed, and you must move their hutches into somewhere warm when winter sets in.
- Snakes. Costly because you’ll need special accomodation made, equipment to make sure the room stays at the right temperature for them and a collection of mice for them to eat. The price of the snake depends of the size, with grass snakes not going to costs at much as a huge boa python.
- Spiders. A spider will require a container to keep it in (with breathing holes!) a steady supply of bugs to be eaten and a spouse that wont panic when they escape.
